Enrichment
At Birkdale Primary, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our enrichment offer provides every child with opportunities to explore new interests, develop new skills, build confidence and create lasting memories. Through exciting educational visits, extra-curricular clubs, outdoor adventures and links with our local community, we aim to broaden our pupils’ horizons, nurture their talents and inspire a lifelong love of learning. From discovering new places and cultures to working together, trying something new and making a positive difference in our community, we want every child to enjoy a rich and varied school experience where they can thrive and reach their full potential.
We want our children to feel proud of their community and understand the importance of kindness, responsibility and helping others. Through opportunities to connect with local people and take on leadership roles, our pupils learn how they can make a positive difference to the world around them.
At Birkdale Primary, this includes:
-
Reception children exploring Birkdale Village and delivering Christmas postcards to the local community.
-
Our school choir performing in the village and visiting local care homes during the festive season.
-
Opportunities to develop leadership and responsibility through School Council, buddies and pupil ambassador roles.
-
Environmental activities and opportunities to care for our community through our Eco provision.
We believe that experiencing art, music, history and different cultures helps children develop creativity, curiosity and an appreciation of the world around them. Our enrichment opportunities allow pupils to explore their interests, express themselves and experience learning beyond the classroom.

Enrichment helps children develop the skills and confidence they need for the future.
