Corona Virus - School Update

Good Morning – 16/03/20 Coronavirus Update

I intend to place updates here regarding the current situation. Firstly, there are no confirmed cases of Covid 19 linked to the school. School will remain open unless we are advised to do otherwise.  The Chief Medical Officer has stated that ‘future advice to schools will be taken based on the latest and best scientific advice.’

At this time of year, it is not unusual for us all to have coughs and colds etc. but we will inform any parents if we have any concerns about any of our children and will advise parents to seek medical advice.

You will be aware that some schools closed around Christmas time due to Norovirus – we were not affected likely due to our strict hygiene regime – we have had hand sanitising and twice daily cleaning in place for some time and will continue to do so. If not more so.

Today’s attendance is slightly down at 94%. I do appreciate the concerns expressed by some parents. I should be able to confirm how absences linked to concern about the situation are recorded soon. Any parent reporting absences linked to illness or injury of any kind will be recorded as authorised.

Homework – we have plans in place should the school close and will use the website as our main communication link with this. Until this happens, school will not be providing homework because we are open and functioning as normal.

We will update if there are any changes to clubs etc. via text. As it stands, this week is set to be a nice, normal week!

Please be reminded:

The symptoms are:

·         A high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)

·         A new, continuous cough

Thank you

Mr Sheeran
