Your class teacher is

Miss Banks.

This year, Miss Williams will be helping us in year 6 and Miss Kool will be teaching you on Thursday afternoons.

Important Information:

Our day begins at 08:45 and ends at 15:20.

P.E. is on Wednesday and Thursday, so you need to come in your outdoor P.E. kit. Our school P.E. kit is; plain navy blue or black tracksuit, plain white t-shirt and trainers.

No ruck-sacks or pencil cases/stationary - book bags only and we will provide the equipment you need.

You can bring in snack which is fruit only.

We will sort reading books out in the first week, however these will stay in school for now and please do not bring a book in from home.

There will be no extra-curricular clubs until further notice - due to social distancing. 


Autumn Term:

As we settle back into school we will be sharing the story of The Goldfish Boy and engaging in lots of discussions and a variety of activities.



In the autumn term, we will be learning about humans, healthy diet and the circulatory system including the heart and blood vessels. We will also be studying electricity, making circuits and changing components.


In the autumn term, we will be studying World War II, with a specific focus on Life in Britain during the war and why the Second World War is such a significant event in Britain and global history.


In the autumn term, we will be studying the features of a map and grid references. We will also be organising information about the world’s Biomes including; Temperate Deciduous Forests, Desert Biome and Tundra Biome.

Spelling – Please check our class page for the spelling lists and check the ‘To Dos’ on Purple Mash.  You will be set a spelling quiz each week.  You will then have a dictation using these spellings on a Friday in school.




There is an expectation that you will read every day for at least 20 minutes.  It is always nice to share reading with someone when you can.  If you need some ideas for new books to enjoy, please have a look at the suggested reading list for year 6 on our class page.


Times tables

Please continue to practise your times tables regularly and use Times Table Rock Stars and Monster Multiplication (on Purple Mash) as often as you can.


Independent learning

You may wish to do your own independent research or activities based on some of our topics in science, history or geography.   You may complete some art or computing work that you would love to show us.  You might even wish to share an achievement or an award you have received.  If you do, you can upload these onto our year 6 online floorbook.  Instructions on how to do this are on the class page.  We love to see what you do!


Dojos will be awarded for completion of tasks which are handed in on time smiley.
