We have an exciting year ahead of us this year. Our school council has been invitied to take part in a community project. We have teamed up with other school council groups from Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School, Greenbank High School, Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School and Christ the King High School.
Dominique and Owen from our school council went along to a meeting at Birkdale High School on 12th October to find out more.
After a very long discussion, our working party agreed that our community project would be to improve the local area around Hillside train station. Our key action points are to increase childrens
awareness about rail safety with the support from Merseyrail, to visually enhance the attractiveness of Hillside train station and its platform, to find out about youth leisure facilities in the local area and for all children in each school to design a poster or leaflet advertising the leisure activities available. We hope to achieve this by the end of the summer term.

We are meeting again on 29th November at Christ the King High School to form an action plan. Each school council will be given an activity to do during the spring term.
CHRISTMAS FAIR - FRIDAY 9TH NOVEMBER

Members of the school council will be selling school calendars in the main hall at Friday's Christmas Fair. Each month has been produced by a different class. Come along, take a look and please purchase one. All proceeds will go to the school council fund.

Reindeer food will be on sale in the reception classroom for 50p a bag. Some councillors will be walking around school selling them as well. Look out for them being sold. Every house should have one to help guide Rudolf to your house on Christmas Eve. All money raised will go to school funds.

Well done to our leisure poster competition winners. 1st Eloise McBride
2nd Ellie Morrison
3rd Maisie Bellerby
Tickets for Splash World are on there way.
43 children entered and you can currently see the top six winning posters on display in the waiting room at Hillside Train Station.

Look out for our garden planters soon to be appearing on Hillside platform. We hope they add some colour and that the public like them.
Visit us again soon to find out what we are up to!
